Wyclef Jean has made a few major headlines within the past year, from rocking birthday Speedos to divulging intimate details behind the long-rumored love affair between himself and Lauryn Hill. The musician has kept himself in the spotlight using everything but music. But this spring that will change.

The former Fugees member will make his return to the mic stand with the release of a new mixtape, 'April Showers.' He's also recruited a number of notable guests to grace tracks on the upcoming project including 2 Chainz, Uncle Murda, Trae the Truth, T.I. and Waka Flocka Flame.

According to HipHopDX, the response to Wyclef's lead single from 'April Showers' encouraged the emcee to make his music even more relatable on a deeper level.

"The reaction I've been getting from the song 'Hip Hop' has made me realize just how badly the fans want music that can evoke certain types of emotion," he shares. "With April Showers, I am going to show you where I feel the evolution and future of music is going. From this body of work you can expect a futuristic sonic eclectic sound.”

'April Showers' is planned for a spring release.
