DJ Khaled has been screaming, "We the best," for years and in 2009 he had the opportunity to prove his worth after being appointed president of Def Jam South. According to the Miami-based DJ, L.A. Reid reached out to him based on his ability to handpick smash hits and build relationships with hitmakers including Young Jeezy and Rick Ross. Not only does Khaled head Def Jam's southern division but his We the Best Music Group is steadily growing. Last May, he signed on to a joint venture deal with Young Money/Cash Money and his roster which includes artists like Mavado and Ace Hood.
