RZA, 2 Chainz Make Crossover Appearances At Coachella
While most surprises would probably happen on the first weekend of Coachella, RZA and 2 Chainz mixed things up when they made guest appearances Saturday (April 20) and Sunday (April 21) at sets that aren't what hip-hop fans would necessarily be used to.
Although RZA performed at Coachella's first weekend, he took the stage again Sunday night to help indie Brit musician James Blake on the pair's recent collaboration, 'Take a Fall for Me,' a track from Blake's latest album, 'Overgrown.'
Grabbing his crotch and a female who happened to be standing nearby during the performance, the Wu Tang Clan member spit, "I heard through the grapevine that great love, it takes time / Sex shapes the body, Truth shapes the mind / Candle light dinners of fish and chips with vinegar / With a glass of cold style or old wine or something similar / Some of the haters channeled to the Italian peninsula / Her strong pheromones have come over the hand to stick to her."
Clearly this is a track for the ladies.
2 Chainz made an appearance during two different sets.
First, he popped up during Fall Out Boy's performance, giving the punk rock band a hip-hop lift but also sharing his motivation to do something bigger than just rap. "Not only did I come to save hip-hop, but I come to save rock and roll, too," he proclaimed before grabbing one of the electric guitars.
Performing some of his most popular tracks including 'No Lie,' 'Duffle Bag Boy,' 'Birthday Song' and 'I'm Different,' he also ad-libbed on the band's latest track, 'My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up).'
After the Fall Out Boy set, he hopped over to Major Lazer's stage and teamed up with the group on 'Bubble Butt.'
