Mack Wilds vs. Jennifer Hudson – R&B Sound Off
Sometimes change is good. At least that's what the fans thought when they voted Mack Wilds as the winner of last week's R&B Sound Off. With 61.9 percent, Mack took Lyfe Jennings' place as the R&B Sound Off King (he only received 38.1 percent of the votes).
‘Wild Things’ is the third single off Mack's upcoming album, ‘New York: A Love Story,’ due Sept. 30. Featuring Method Man, the song kicks off with an orchestral opening followed by a beat that’s relatively familiar to the East Coast. Celebrating his love for the Big Apple, Wilds comes out hard, despite his smooth vocals, on how he reps his town.
“Come from the crown side / The New York town side / West side till I di-e / I grew up hearing that Wu-not / Watching that cop that / You feel like cooking this / Hercules get a hand god damn,” he sings.
Meanwhile Jennifer Hudson, who battles Wilds in this week's Sound Off, is bringing the party back with 'I Can’t Describe (The Way I Feel).' With an instrumental reminiscent of the golden days of 'Soul Train,' the dance track shows Hudson's playful side as she sings about finding that new crush. With T.I. added as the male perspective on the song, it's a fun one to warm you up even though the summer's gone.
"Dancing and we play around, you know you got me / And dancing feels like raining down all over my body / It tingles here, tingles there, ooh it tingles everywhere / That's why I never find the words to describe," she sings.
Will Mack Wilds hold on to the top spot? Or will J-Hud's party track dance away with the Sound Off crown? Vote for your favorite song in the poll below. Remember you can vote once per hour until the poll closes on Tues., Oct. 1, at 10AM ET.

Rules of R&B Sound Off
Two R&B artists sound off against each other each week. The triumphant artist goes on to compete in the next R&B Sound Off. If an artist wins four straight R&B Sound Offs, the song will be honored as immortal in TheDrop.fm R&B Sound Off Hall of Fame.
