Justin Timberlake Takes Video of the Year at 2013 MTV Video Music Awards
Joseph Gordon-Levitt announced the Video of the Year nominees at the MTV Video Music Awards in a fantastic, high-class English voice, but the moment belonged to Justin Timberlake. He hasn't been nominated for a Moonman since 2007, where he won four awards. He took home three awards on Sunday, including the biggest one of the night.
Timberlake's 'Mirror' won for Video of the Year. The Floria Sigismondi-directed visual features two lovers throughout different stages of their relationship as they grow old. For the song's second half, Justin Timberlake performs a variety of dance moves in a room full of mirrors.
The aging lovers plot line ends with the male character passing away. Timberlake's grandfather passed away last December, and he said the video was dedicated to his grandparents. The words "For William and Sadie" appear on the screen before the video starts.
Timberlake's sophomore effort, 'The 20/20 Experience: 2 of 2,' drops on Sept. 27
