Joe Budden rarely seems to be in a hurry. Even in his newest venture as part of this season’s ‘Love & Hip Hop’ cast, the rapper is thoughtful when he speaks and careful about his actions, so when his third LP, ‘No Love Lost’ was pushed back earlier this month, Budden seemed ultimately unaffected. “I’m not disappointed at all,” he tells TheDrop.fm. “It’s a two-week pushback. Two weeks.”

“I kind of felt like the label was rushing a little bit,” Budden says of E1. “[They wanted] to get it out there a little too soon because the show was airing but I was worried about it hindering the creative process. I had all the time I needed though to create an incredible album.”

‘No Love Lost’ will feature the Slaughterhouse emcee at his absolute best. His lyrics rest on production from beatsmiths like fellow New Jersey native Cardiak and members of the SLV team.

The official tracklist reveals a number of guest appearances from Kirko Bangz and French Montana to Omarion and Tank. Budden says that it’s possible ‘Love & Hip Hop’ viewers may catch him in the booth this season. “We filmed a lot of those segments,” he shares. “But reality TV is all in the edit so I’m not sure what will make it.”

Overall, the ‘She Don’t Put It Down’ creator is excited to reveal his latest body of work, regardless of the delay. His lyrics should prove to be as profound as ever, particularly on this album, where he takes his industry dealings into account. “On any Joe Budden album you’re gonna hear about relationships in some capacity,” he adds. “Whether it’s a significant other, a friendship or an enemy. It’s all based on some type of emotion and, normally, most emotions in the universe come from relationships.”

'No Love Lost' arrives Feb. 5.
