With the premiere of Empire's season two happening in 20 days, Fox's hit dramatic series has revealed new trailers that give fans some hints on what to expect for the upcoming season.

There are two central themes weaved into these clips -- who'll take over Empire and how to officially knock Lucious off the executive chair. While Lucious, played by Terrence Howard, is stuck in jail, we see that he meets with Cookie, portrayed by Taraji P. Henson. He's all smiles during the meeting, but Cookie is less than pleased to be in his presence.

"It's crazy how I can love and hate you at the same moment," Lucious admits. However, Cookie doesn't share the same sentiment and says, "I call it torture."

Clearly, these two have some kind of plan brewing that is sure to shake up the season.

Empire fans will be pleased to know that the second season will be a little longer -- 18 episodes to be exact -- unlike the 12 during the pilot season. And like the first go around, the show will be packed with some big guest stars, including Mariah Carey, Adam Busch, Andre Royo, Kelly Rowland, Marisa Tomei, Adam Rodriguez, Chris Rock, Lenny Kravitz and Alicia Keys. Meanwhile Ne-Yo and Timbaland will be working together on the music for the upcoming season.

"Ain't About the Money," which we've heard in a number of the trailers, brings on-screen brothers Jussie Smollett and Yazz together on this powerful track. Smollett also teams up with Pitbull on the party track, "No Doubt About it."

The new season of Empire will premiere on Sept. 23 at 9PM ET on Fox.
