We haven't seen or heard much from Jordin Sparks lately but that doesn't mean she's been twiddling her thumbs. In fact, she's been sharpening her acting skills for a couple of entertainment projects.

The 23-year-old singer has signed on to make a guest appearance in an episode of CBS' popular series, 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.'

According to Perez Hilton, Sparks will play a high school teacher who finds herself in a hotel room, which is the scene of a bloody homicide.

Besides her guest role on 'CSI,' Sparks can also be seen in theaters this Friday (Oct. 11) in the new movie 'The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete,' starring opposite 'American Idol' alum Jennifer Hudson.

As far as music goes, Sparks can be heard on Salaam Remi's fantastic new album 'One: in the Chambe,' on the lovely ballad 'Chocolate Brown Eyes.'

Sparks also has a Christmas ditty on the upcoming 'The Best Man Holiday' soundtrack titled 'Christmastime to Me.'

It looks like Jordin Sparks is making big moves both in the music and film world. You go girl!
