Undoubtedly, Will Smith is one of the most powerful actors in Hollywood. He's among a  minority of African-Americans who can actually green-light and fund a big-budgeted film. Smith's acting career started out modestly with the hit sitcom, 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.'

From there, the Philadelphia native was able to parlay that into a profitable film career. Movies like 'Independence Day' and the 'Bad Boys' franchise turned him into a box office superstar.

Smith's filmography is quite extensive but his crowning achievement in film was playing legendary boxer Muhammad Ali in the quasi-biopic 'Ali,' for which he garnered an Oscar nomination.

Behind the scenes, he heads his production company, Overbrook Entertainment, where he produced such films as 'The Pursuit of Happyness' and 'The Karate Kid,' among many others.
