Ne-Yo – Artists With an Executive Title on Their Resume

Ne-Yo is another songwriter who's earned quite a number of accolades since taking his own place in the spotlight. After a number of false starts in his own singing career, the Las Vegas native stepped behind the scenes to help other artists realize their dreams. Within a matter of years though, Ne-Yo became a star in his own right, dropping hit after timeless hit -- beginning with the 'In My Own Words' LP in 2005. In January 2012, Motown recognized his determination and persistence as necessary traits to have present in their offices as they appointed him senior vice president of A&R. Not a bad track record for someone who had trouble breaking into the industry less than a decade ago.
