Legendary rapper LL Cool J might be the first rapper to ever pose with an animal on an album cover. For his 1989 LP, 'Walking With a Panther,' the Queens emcee is in a stance behind a black panther.

Back in the days, this really looked cool (excuse the pun), but today it's kind of kitschy. We would love to know who was in charge of putting that gold dookie rope around the cat's neck -- that couldn't have been easy to do. Nevertheless, it's one of the most memorable rap album covers in hip-hop.

On a side note: LL's gold-and-diamond three-finger ring is fresh to def!
