Joey Bada$$ releases his new mixtape, 'Summer Knights,' today and a hot topic surrounding his name is his "real" relationship with Jay-Z.

In a new interview with the Village Voice, Joey explains that his highly-publicized relationship with Hov has been blow out of proportion. He explains that he didn't exactly turn down a record deal with Roc Nation, which was previously reported.

"It wasn't really a turn down, it was more of a mutual understanding," the Pro Era rapper shares. "People and the media are going to change things to what they want to hear. It's more, he seen my vision and he got what I was trying to do. That's what it was. He was like, 'I see you, little homie.'"

The 'Waves' creator also says that he's willing to sign to a major label for a cool $3 million. Why that number? "Hell yeah. Get my mom out the hood. You feel me?" he says.
