Common has been relatively quiet on the music front in recent months, but it looks as if we will hear some new material from the Chicago emcee in 2013. The G.O.O.D. Music artist announced on 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon' that he will release an EP, mixtape and new album within the calendar year.

First up is his 'LUV' EP, inspired by the movie of the same name, which opens in theaters Jan. 18. Com will follow that with his first-ever mixtape due in the spring, and, finally, his 10th album arrives in the fall.

"I'm coming out with an EP at the end of this month that will be accompanying the movie, 'LUV,'" Common shares. "Then I'll be dropping a mixtape, my first mixtape I've ever done in my life that will be coming out in April, and then an album in September."

The rapper-actor also gave the synopsis of the independent film 'LUV,' which he stars in and produced through his production company Freedom Road Entertainment. "Well, it's a coming of age story for an inner-city kid that actually goes out with his uncle for a day," he explains. "His uncle wants to show him the good parts of life, but he ends up trying to be a man and shows him the good and the bad pretty much."

"It's really relevant to what's going on in an America with our young people," he continues. "Actually taking father figures that may not be the proper father figure. They may have some good things to teach them but not everything is good."

We wish Common the best of luck on his new movie and we can't wait to hear his mixtape and full-length album in 2013.
