A$AP Rocky vs. Nelly – Rap Battle
Eminem has done it again. Not only has he won last week's Rap Battle, but he's also entered the Rap Battle Hall of Fame for the second time. His song, 'Berzerk,' received a whopping 88.85 percent of the vote and blew away Pusha T's 11.15 percent for his song 'Nosetalgia.'
With Em entering the Hall of Fame this week, that means we've got two new rappers to put in the ring. First, it's A$AP Rocky with his latest, 'R. Cali.' Off the soundtrack for ‘Grand Theft Auto V,’ which just released, the 2-minute track feels like a frenetic car chase, much like the ones seen in the video game. From fast cars to shootouts, the song feels like the listener is behind the wheel and shows another strong effort from the Big Apple rapper.
“Car jacking, pistol packing / Motherf---ing choppers clapping / Metal jacket automatic magazines head on traffic / Window smashing, windows crashing, pants sagging, f--- your fashion / Yeah a n---- run Manhattan / Back in Cali’s where it happen,” he delivers.
Against Rocky this week is Nelly with his new single, 'IDGAF.' Reminiscent of his old club tracks, the St. Louis rhymer teams up with T.I. and Pharrell Williams on this song. Rapping about partying it up and essentially not caring about anything else, the tune gives us a taste of what to expect from Nelly's upcoming album, ‘M.O.’ out next Tuesday (Oct. 1).
"If they call the cops on me, IDGAF / I won't stop no, IDGAF, baby / Baby girl you should call me tonight / Them other niggas don't know how to talk to you right / You understand what I'm offering right? IDGAF," he raps.
Will A$AP Rocky's high-speed song take the win this week? Or will Nelly's new club anthem take all the votes? You can vote once per hour until the poll closes on Thurs., Oct. 3, at 10AM ET.
