Akon and Salaam Remi Connect for ‘One in the Chamber’

Producer Salaam Remi has collaborated with Amy Winehouse on her classic album, 'Back to Black,' Nas on 'Life Is Good' and others like Big Boi and Miguel. The celebrated producer is now working on his own potential classic, the new album, 'One: In the Chamber,' and he's just released the project's first single.

'One in the Chamber' features 'Soul Survivor' crooner Akon, who's planning on releasing his own album this year. The two never collaborated together but that doesn't mean either had to change their style that much to mesh.

Remi sticks to his throwback aesthetic by mixing an omnipresent drum pattern with a spaghetti western riff to deliver this standoffish vibe, while Akon lengthens his syllables as he sings to match the song's dramatic atmosphere.

The album, also titled 'One: In the Chamber,' will feature Corinne Bailey Rae, Estelle, Ne-Yo and more. The project is set to drop on Sept. 30.
