Trina’s Brother Wilbrent Bain Shot and Killed in Miami

There is sad news to report in the hip-hop community today. Trina's younger brother, Wilbrent Bain was shot and killed in Miami Tuesday morning (April 23).

According to news affiliate NBC6, Bain, who goes by the nickname "Gonk," was gunned down by an acquaintance, Ron Dobson, during an altercation. Residents in the neighborhood said the two were friends and somehow their disagreement got out of control.

"It hit me hard because I just talked to him," said a neighbor. "This killing has to stop. It has to. All of us grew up together and that's just senseless."

Dobson was arrested on the scene and confessed to shooting Bain, according to a police affidavit.

Bain lived his entire life in Miami and was well-liked in his neighborhood. "He's a very good kid," said Rev. Gary Johnson, a friend of the family. "It's unfortunate. It's a terrible tragedy."

Fellow rapper Trick Daddy also expressed his condolences via Twitter after hearing the sad news about Trina's brother. "It's sad when you constantly hear about people dying but it's bad when you personally know all these people..R.I.P GONNKIE My condolences," he tweeted.
