Toni Braxton and Babyface Get Apologetic on ‘Hurt You’
Toni Braxton and Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds have 16 Grammys and multiples hits between them; the accolades say they're perfectly capable of producing good music. The two are prepping the release of a duets album, 'Love, Marriage & Divorce,' and now the first track off the project from the almost unfairly talented singers arrives.
'Hurt You' is an apologetic track that features Babyface singing about his regret of a past love. He coos in a youthful, sorrowful voice while Braxton sounds booming -- almost overpowering at times -- in comparison. The hook shows the same sort of chemistry the duo showed in their first duet, 1992's 'Give U My Heart,' off the famed 'Boomerang' soundtrack.
Babyface plays the drums, guitar and keyboards on 'Hurt You.'
'Love, Marriage & Divorce' is expected to drop Dec. 3. This will be Babyface's first album since 2007's 'Playlist.' Braxton's last album, 'Pulse,' was released in 2010.
