Talib Kweli played a sold-out show with his full live band at S.O.B’s, in his hometown of New York City last night (Jan. 20).

Despite the frigid weather outside, inside, the venue was warm with the energy of hip-hop heads. Kweli definitely got the crowd's blood pumping and fans singing.

The rapper and his crew played some new tracks from his forthcoming album, ‘Prisoner of Conscious,’ as well as old school favorites such as ‘Get By,’ ‘Listen,’ ‘Definition’ and even an incredible cover of the Beatles song ‘All the Lonely People.’

Not only is Kweli a talented rapper whose lyrics flow with soul and velocity but his band is filled with talented musicians who have truly perfected their craft.

Openers included Houston rapper Cory Mo as well as Brooklyn native Kris Kasanova, who rocked the house with his vibrant drummer Manny.

'Prisoner of Conscious,' Kweli's sixth studio album, is set to arrive in February.
