The Beastie Boys' Adam Yauch aka MCA passed away last May 4 at the tender age of 47 after battling cancer. He was honored today (May 3) when Palmetto Playground in his native Brooklyn was renamed Adam Yauch Park at a special ceremony.

Beastie Boy Adam Yauch, who went by the MCA moniker in the rap trio, passed away at 47 last year on May 4, after a long battle with salivary gland cancer. The musician was a loud and proud Brooklynite, and his love for the borough and his memory will be preserved tomorrow (May 3) when Palmetto Playground in Brooklyn Heights, N.Y., is renamed Adam Yauch Park.
