Rick Ross, French Montana, Meek Mill & Diddy Flourish on ‘Bout That Life’
The Maybach Music Group once again shows its propensity for turning urban phrases into street anthems (see: 'Ima Boss') in the newly released 'Bout That Life.' Rick Ross and Meek Mill recruit Diddy and French Montana, two rappers with that same talent.
While 'Bout That Life' definitely has the potential to be a club banger, it could be a crash course for those who don't know the definition of the phrase. For Meek Mill, being about that life means being "Still young represent rich, yellow diamonds like piss." For Diddy, it's the ability to "ball like LeBron but I got a couple more rings."
The four would also like listeners and targets -- perhaps even you -- to know that they're not 'Bout That Life.' If that knowledge isn't embedded into your head as Meek Mill chants the chorus with his signature loud voice then the outright vitriolic yelling at the end of the track will.
'Bout That Life' is a cut off 'Self Made, Vol. 3,' due Sept. 17.
