Musician Questlove is known for his supreme drumming with the Roots band, but now he's putting on a chef's hat with his new eatery Hybird.

The drummer, along with restauranteur and business partner Stephen Starr, will open a fried chicken and dumplings food stand on Saturday (May 18) in New York.

According to the New York Post, Hybird is described as "gourmet fast food for the eclectic palate."

Questlove said his chicken food stand was inspired by Philadelphia's ever-growing food truck culture. "I always wanted to have my own soul food version of a Mister Softee truck," he explained to audiences at Google headquarters in May 2012.

Among the celebrities expected to attend Hybird's grand opening include R&B songbird Melanie Fiona and John Legend's fiancee Chrissy Teigen, as well as celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain.

The entertainer spent a year developing and taste-tasting his signature flavored chicken drumsticks for public consumption. The dumplings were crafted by chefs from Starr's Buddakan restaurant. The food stand will also serve cupcakes, as well as juices and slushies. Yum!

We want to wish Questlove much success on his new delicious venture. Can you send us some drumsticks over to the office?
