After much speculation, Nicki Minaj has announced that she will not be returning to 'American Idol.' The news of her departure comes shortly after fellow 'Idol' judge Mariah Carey announced she was exiting from the show.

From our vantage point, it looks like a mass exodus is happening at 'Idol.' Last month, Randy Jackson also said that he was leaving the show after 12 seasons of fine judging. Rumors are now circulating that Keith Urban might bow out as well.

Meanwhile, Minaj went on Twitter Thursday (May 30) to inform the Barbz of her decision.

"Thank you American Idol for a life changing experience! Wouldn't trade it for the world! Time to focus on the Music!!! Mmmuuuaahhh!!!" she tweeted.

Arguably, Minaj was one of the most contentious judges to ever appear on 'American Idol.' The Young Money star will mostly be remembered for her legendary spats with Carey on and off the show. The 'Freedom' rapper contends that the '#Beautiful' singer is insecure and jealous of her success.

Also, Minaj's Twitter feud with 'Access Hollywood' correspondent Lisa Saltman didn't leave a good impression with the 'Idol' producers.

There is a silver lining in all of this.

'American Idol' Season 3 contestant Jennifer Hudson has signed on to be a judge for Season 13 in 2014.
