Monica and Shannon Brown Welcome Daughter Laiyah

Congratulations are in order for Monica and her hubby, Shannon Brown. Last Thursday (Sept. 5), the couple welcomed a baby daughter named Laiyah into the world.

The baby was born at 1:55PM, weighed in at 6 pounds, 1 ounce and measured 19 inches long, reports People.

The proud dad confirmed the news via his Twitter page. "I THANK GOD for her!!! JOY has been restored in my LIFE!!!" he tweeted. The Phoenix Suns b-baller then posted a photo on Instagram of himself cradling the bundle of joy with the caption, "Daddy' Girl."

This is the first child between the two loving parents. Monica has two sons, Romelo Montez Hill and Rocko Ramone Hill III with rapper Rocko, while Brown has a son, Shannon Christopher, from a previous relationship.

The couple met three years ago on the set of Monica's video for 'Love All Over Me' and married shortly after.
