In honor of the one-year anniversary of Whitney Houston's passing on Feb. 11, Melanie Fiona paid tribute to the late singer by covering one of her all-time iconic songs, 'One Moment in Time.'

"I feel like it's one of the greatest songs that she has and that has ever been written. The lyrical content... it's almost like the forgotten gem of her catalog," she said in an interview with Billboard. "I think this record is just so powerful and has such a positive message."

She continued, "Whitney's voice as a singer, for me, is the single voice I can attribute to why I fell in love with singing."

Accompanied by an acoustic guitar, the stripped-down version of the tune carries Houston's essence and shows how much of an influence the legendary singer had on Fiona's version. And with pipes that can hit those high notes as well as Houston did, that's something to applaud.
