Kelly Rowland and The-Dream Radiate During Lights Out Tour in New York City [Exclusive Photos]
R&B songstress Kelly Rowland and crooner The-Dream gave their East Coast fans a treat as they performed for the Lights Out tour last night (May 30) at the Best Buy Theater in the heart of Times Square in New York City. Supporting acts August Alsina and Adrian Marcel also graced the stage.
Rowland is touring in support of her brand new album, ‘Talk a Good Game,’ due June 18. She performed new tracks such as ‘Street Life,’ ‘This Is Love,’ ‘Gone’ and ‘Dirty Laundry.’ The-Dream also returned to the stage as a guest vocalist to perform their collaboration, ‘Where Have You Been,’ a song featured on his 'IV Play' album, out now.
She also did a soulful rendition of Bob Marley’s ‘Is This Love’ and took fans back to her Destiny’s Child days by belting out snippets of ‘Jumpin',’ ‘Soldier’ and ‘Cater 2 U.’ Fans also sang along to favorites like ‘Dilemma,’ ‘Kisses Down Low,’ ‘Motivation’ and ‘Like This.’
Her vocals resonated all throughout the venue and her warmth and grace was infectious. Her crowd interaction and eye-to-eye connection with those in the audience are just a couple of the many reasons why Kelly Rowland has and will continue to stay relevant in the music industry.
When it came time for The-Dream to take the stage by himself, his hour-long performance had hips shaking and mouths singing to tracks like ‘Dope Bitch,’ ‘IV Play,’ ‘Ditch That’ and ‘Rockin’ That S---,‘ among many more.
His energy onstage was impeccable and his swag was contagious. Seeing The-Dream onstage is a revitalizing and entertaining experience. As a singer, he takes listeners to new heights with his voice and as a performer he makes troubles melt away.
Opening artists August Alsina and Adrian Marcel started off the night with their short but lively sets, which won over some people, specifically many of the females in the room.
