Veteran balladeer Donell Jones marks his return from a three-year hiatus with his new single, 'Forever.' The song is the title track from his upcoming album of the same name.

Jones dedicates the ballad to all the ladies who faithfully hold their man down in a relationship. On the song, the 39-year-old crooner showcases his smooth vocals as he tells his boo -- whom he affectionately calls "my 22" -- that he wants to spend forever with her.

"I wanna be with you / Baby, you are my inspiration, angel with wings / You put your life on hold to be with me / I can't live a day without cha," he sings.

Jones brings the loving home on the chorus as he yearns, "They say a man ain't supposed to cry / But I'm crying out to you / 'Cause I see me with you for the rest of my life / Nothing I would rather do than to be here forever."

This is a wonderfully smooth track that should get some major spins on urban radio, especially, during the Quiet Storm hours. It's great to hear Jones is back singing again.

Younger listeners who are unfamiliar with Jones may want to dip into his back catalog and check out classic joints like 'Where I Wanna Be' and 'U Know What's Up' featuring the late TLC rapper Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes.

Donell Jones' seventh album, 'Forever,' is due later this year.
