Birdman spoke with New York's Hot 97’s Angie Martinez this afternoon to clear up rumors surrounding Lil Wayne’s current medical conditions.

When news broke Friday (March 15), the rapper, born Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr., was listed in critical condition by TMZ. The site even claimed he was near death. Birdman says all of that was false.

The ‘Fireman’ rapper had only one seizure on Tuesday night (March 12), right before leaving to shoot his next music video. “He’s been in the hospital since Tuesday,” Birdman said in the interview. And when asked if he has been in and out of the hospital since, Birdman simply said, "No."

Reports also indicated that Wayne overdosed on codeine due to drinking sizzurp and may need rehab. But the ‘Born Stunna’ rhymer also claims that information is false, saying Wayne is simply exhausted, which caused the seizure. “It’s his work ethnic,” Birdman stated. "[It's] how hard he works. How much dedication he gives to music, to his fans, and what he’s trying to accomplish in life.” Baby also adds, “It has nothing to do with drugs, just how he works.”

According to doctor’s orders, Wayne needs some much-needed rest and should be released within the next few days.
