Once every year or two, there's at least one phrase that takes over onstage, on record and in day-to-day conversation between rap fans. As popular as the word may be, it's usually run into the ground within months. In 2013, that phrase is undoubtedly "turn up!"

It's not that it doesn't make sense, but to hear it applied in every social situation from party pre-gaming to some other mundane activity is just too much and leading to the death of "turn up" sooner than later.

It's a fact solidified once songs have been built on the phrase. On the recent release of DJ Drama's latest track '4 What,' Young Jeezy spits "Turn down? For what?" all throughout the hook. We're giving "turn up" until the fall to disappear.
