Robin Thicke, ‘Blurred Lines’ Feat. Pharrell & T.I. – Songs of Summer 2013

Robin Thicke

‘Blurred Lines’ is quite possibly the song of the summer and it’s not even over yet. This effort has become an unexpected hit for Robin Thicke, who was seemingly counted out of the game for failing to deliver chart-topping smashes.

Created with the intent to sound similar to Marvin Gaye’s ‘Got to Give It Up,’ the song is centered on Thicke, T.I. and Pharrell delivering slick lines to a girl who wants to “get nasty.”

“What do we need steam for / You the hottest bitch in this place / I feel so lucky, you wanna hug me / What rhymes with hug me,” Thicke sings.

The song has reached No. 1 in at least 17 different countries, while allowing Thicke to leave his spot as a cast member in the hit television series ‘Real Husbands of Hollywood’ due to its unexpected success.
