The 2015 MTV Video Music Awards brought your favorite rappers and singers to the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday night (Aug. 30). But before the show started, artists graced the red carpet in some gorgeous frocks and bold styles that will certainly be talked about when the VMAs are over.

The ladies always seem to shine on the red carpet. Nicki Minaj was glittering in her gold gown while Rita Ora wore an all-black feathery dress, which revealed her slender legs. And although Demi Lovato is super pop, we had to include her in our roundup because she looked pretty -- scratch that -- beautiful in pink.

However, everybody is going to be talking about Amber Rose’s bold statement on the red carpet with her slut-shaming outfit. The blonde-haired model wore a one-piece body suit with derogatory terms like "slut," "whore" and "bitch" written all over it.

Not to be outdone, the men were looking fly on the red carpet as well. Pharrell Williams and his wife, Helen Lasichanh, wore denim on denim to the VMAs. Normally, this would be considered a fashion faux pas, but Skateboard P made it cool to go all out denim. Kanye West went for a casual basics look in gray, while his wife, Kim Kardashian, kept the glamour rather low-key with a Robin Hood-inspired dress.

Finally, we have to mention that Vic Mensa brought a rebellious vibe to the red carpet. The Chicago rhymer’s T-shirt, which featured an image of exiled Black Panther Assata Shakur, might draw some criticism among those in the police force.

Overall, it wouldn’t be a MTV VMAs red carpet if artists didn’t make bold statements with their fashion choices.
