Kanye West Rants About Corporate America, the Grammys and ’Suit & Tie’ at London Show

Kanye West held his first of two concerts in London over the weekend, and, as usual, decided to give concertgoers a piece of his mind. The mercurial rapper went on an 11-minute tirade about corporate America, the Grammys and Justin Timberlake‘s song, ‘Suit & Tie.’

Midway through his set, after performing his song ‘Clique,’ Yeezy took a moment to address the crowd. He started off praising London for its “creativity” before launching into his heated diatribe.

First, West took a swipe at corporate America. “I hate business people,” he warbled. “People get on the phone with me and talk to me like, ‘What kind of business can it do, though? What kind of business are you doing? What’s the numbers? How much did you sell? How much shampoo you can sell with your face on it and s—?’”

West then railed against the Grammys and Timberlake’s current hit single, ‘Suit & Tie.’ “Remind again why we’re in this s— / Remind me again why the Grammys could suck my d— / Remind me again who’s the original Super Fly / And I got love for Hov, but I ain’t fucking with that ‘Suit & Tie.’”

The Throne rapper also threw shots at corporate sponsors for trying to put their logos on his concerts before going into a repetitive tirade of “Real n—-s don’t live too long in this s—.”

In a real emotional moment, West talks about losing his late mother, Dr. Donda West as he tells the audience he doesn’t care about people’s comments about him. He then goes on to say that “racism and materialism is killing blacks.”

At the end of his rant, West encouraged the London crowd to stop competing with each other and start loving one another.

After watching this video, it appears that the G.O.O.D. Music leader may have lost some endorsement deals with companies and wanted to lash out at them for good measure. For better or for worse, Kanye West is using the stage as his cathartic release.
