J. Cole Returns to His Hometown for ‘Power Trip’ Video

While we’re still awaiting J. Cole‘s LP, ‘Born Sinner,’ he just released the music video for his latest track, ‘Power Trip.’

Featuring Miguel, who not only lays on the smooth vocals but also appears in the video, Cole takes us back to his hometown of Fayetteville, N.C., where he is debating his feelings over a lady. “Well this has gotta be the longest crush ever / If I ever get to f— it’d be the longest bust ever / Love is a drug, like the strongest stuff ever And, f— it I’m on one, you feel me?” he rhymes.

However, this isn’t your typical romantic video. Instead of showing a love-filled reunion, it shows Cole and his driver heading to the woods to dump some baggage they were carrying on their ride.

Instead of spoiling the ending, we highly suggest you view the entire video to see what happens.

Cole’s sophomore album, ‘Born Sinner,’ arrives June 25. But in the meantime, you can check out his new EP, ‘Yours Truly,’ which dropped in February.
