Wale Has a ‘LoveHate Thing’ on New Song
Wale has been dealing with some closeted jealousy from some people who were once close to him. He's opening up about the dilemma on his new track, 'LoveHate Thing.'
"You made me what I am, you made me what I am not / They gon' love you a little different when you at the top," he raps.
He later on spits, "I lost a lot of friends and they ain't even dead."
The mid-tempo, soulful, instrument-driven beat supports Wale as he speaks on inevitable changes that come when you reach a different level of success.
"The idea behind "lovehate thing" is what comes with shine.Passive aggressive hate from those closest to u. I feel like everybody can relate [sic]," he tweeted after he dropped the new single earlier today.
Sam Dew lends vocals to the hook. 'LoveHate Thing' was produced by Dew, Stokley, and Tone P, according to Rap-Up.com.
The Maybach Music Group signee's third studio album, 'The Gifted,' will reach stores on June 25.
