‘The Voice’ Season 4, Episode 6 Recap: Jessica Childress Impresses With ‘Marry You,’ Judges Secure Teams
It was a short and sweet episode of 'The Voice,' as the judges were searching to complete their teams.
Jacqui Sandell sang ‘Dreams’ by Fleetwood Mac with a sultry interpretation of the classic. She caught the ears of Usher and Blake Shelton, who each turned around for her. Usher didn’t fight hard for Sandell so she eventually settled for Team Blake.
Luke Edgemon really knocked it out of the park when he sat and just sang, ‘I Can’t Make You Love Me’ by Bonnie Raitt -- both Shakira and Usher fought neck-and-neck to have him on their team. All Shakira needed to say was “I’m your girl” and he picked her over the R&B star.
Usher was the only judge left with one open space and they saved the best for last. Jessica Childress wowed the audience with ‘Marry You’ by Bruno Mars. The judges were so impressed by her vocals they wanted the crowd to cheer her on -- plus they wanted Usher to turn his seat around for her. He played along with it and finally picked Childress for his last slot.
Since the judges didn't have to persuade her to pick a team, the contestant was able to show off her personality. She demonstrated her Shakira-like dance moves, making everyone laugh. She even asked Blake if his 'hips don't lie' and with his quick wit he replied with "My right hip lies when I'm in bed." Childress' personality is super cute so look forward to see her the rest of the reason.
Overall, this was a super fun episode leading up to the next round. The judges have finally found their niche and chemistry with one another is really entertaining, which almost makes us forget that CeeLo Green and Christina Aguilera were once a part of the show.
Here's the list of the contestants for Season 4:
Team Adam Levine:
Team Blake Shelton:
The Morgan Twins
The Swon Brothers
