Snoop Lion Debuts ‘No Guns Allowed’ With Drake
Long gone are the 'Deep Cover' days where Snoop detailed a "187 on an undercover cop."
The Long Beach native is clearly on a different vibe for his upcoming LP, 'Reincarnated.' His follow-up single 'No Guns Allowed' is an ethereal offering from the album.
The production is reggae-inspired, featuring vocals from his wife, Shante Broadus and daughter Cori B. There's a verse from Young Money superstar Drake where he speaks on the pitfalls of toting a pistol while knowing it's the wrong thing to do.
It may not be a club banger but 'No Guns Allowed' is definitely something peaceful enough to chill to.
Recently, Snoop visited CNN's Piers Morgan Tonight and explained the reasoning behind his personal growth. “I just felt like I had got to the point in my career and my life where I didn’t need guns in my life because I didn’t project that energy,” Snoop said. “I felt like I was positive and peaceful."
"At the same time," he adds. "I kept hearing about all these school shootings and these people getting guns in their hands and not knowing what to do with them and just going on a rampage, so it really touched me and affected me to where I wanted to say something.”
