Hip-hoppers unite! Rapper Kendrick Lamar and his Black Hippy collective have been tapped to headline the 2013 Paid Dues Festival in San Bernardino, Calif. The Los Angeles-based rap crew consists of Lamar, Ab-Soul, Schoolboy Q and Jay Rock.

Black Hippy tops an impressive festival line-up that includes indie-rap superstars Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Tech N9ne, Joey Bada$$, Dom Kennedy, Grouch & Eligh, Immortal Technique and Hopsin. Veteran rap group De La Soul are also on the bill.

"Paid Dues Festival is truly a unique platform," explains Guerilla Union founder and CEO Chang Weisberg (quotes via The BoomBox). "It allows artists to elevate their talents and presence. Dom Kennedy, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Black Hippy -- only a few years ago, these artists were opening acts here. Now, they are full-fledge, and well deserving, headliners."

We agree! K. Dot and crew were very productive in 2012 and the Paid Dues Festival is a great opportunity for them to expand their fan base and re-introduce themselves to a diverse audience.

The eighth annual Paid Dues Festival is set for March 30, 2013. You can cop general tickets beginning today.
