Drake continues to build on his good momentum this year following his Grammy Award for Best Rap Album for 'Take Care' in February. The rapper is now the newest member of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, otherwise known as ASCAP.

"For me, a big part of making music is getting the opportunity to work with people I love, trust and respect," Drake said on his new move.

"As an organization run by music creators, ASCAP represents a whole community of kindred spirits. Joining ASCAP was just a natural choice for me because I know my music is in the best possible hands," he continued.

The announcement was made by ASCAP's Vice President of Rhythm and Blues Membership, Nicole George-Middleton, who said, "Working from the beginning with his collaborators Noah '40’ Shebib and Boi-1da, it felt only right to have Drake join the ASCAP family."

Drake will join a long list of musical game-changers at ASCAP including Quincy Jones, Pharrell Williams, Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, Jay-Z and Dr. Dre.
