Dr. Dre, ‘Nuthin’ But a G Thang’ – Songs to Ride Out to in Los Angeles

If there's one song that could be credited with setting the tone of L.A. hip-hop in the 1990s, it would be Dr. Dre's 'Nuthin' but a G Thang.'

The first single from the 1992 rap classic, 'The Chronic,' was an instant hit for Dre and Snoop Dogg, who joins him on the track. The two go back and forth on the mic seamlessly, spitting bold lyrics that would make the song one of hip-hop's favorites far outside of L.A.

At that time, it was one of the first tracks rap fans had heard Snoop go in on and his agile flow wrapped itself around the bass-heavy production perfectly. The formula worked. Snoop and Dre had concocted something supremely special and managed to make it look easy.
