Dallas Austin – Artists With an Executive Title on Their Resume

In October, producer-songwriter Dallas Austin was able to tack an executive title onto his name -- senior vice president of A&R at Island Def Jam Records. If anyone is able to handpick hit singles and fledgling stars, it's Austin. The Atlanta-based musician has worked with everyone from Madonna and Gwen Stefani to Michael Jackson and of course TLC. His presence at Island should ensure that the label continues to build an incredibly talented roster full of promise for the urban soundscape.
