Jermaine Dupri hasn't had an easy go of things for quite some time now. It seemed that luck was changing for the head of So So Def back in 2007, when he signed on as Island Def Jam's Urban department president. Two years later, JD broke from the label and it hasn't been specified as to whether or not he was officially relieved of his duties. But in 2009, he made it very clear that Island wasn't appreciative of the records and artists that he brought to the boardroom table, including longtime So So Def signee Dondria and songwriter Johnta Austin. Dupri may be on another run for success though with So So Def celebrating its 20th year with an anniversary concert scheduled for next month.
