Chris Brown Talks Rihanna Assault, Losing His Virginity in New Interview
Chris Brown gets very candid in his new interview with The Guardian. The R&B crooner opens about the 2009 assault on Rihanna and at what age he lost his virginity.
Breezy claims his lost his innocence when he was 8-years-old, to a girl who was about 14 or 15. He said growing up in Tappahannock, Va., with a population of 2,000 people, is quite different from living in a big city.
"It's different in the country," he said. "By that point, we were already kind of like hot to trot, you know what I'm saying? Like, girls, we weren't afraid to talk to them; I wasn't afraid. So, at eight, being able to do it, it kind of preps you for the long run, so you can be a beast at it. You can be the best at it."
As for his once tumultuous relationship with ex-girlfriend Rihanna, the 24-year-old artist calls the 2009 assault incident "probably the biggest wake-up call for me," adding, "I had to stop acting like a little teenager, a crazy, wild young guy."
Elsewhere, Brown says that he is thisclose from getting in trouble with the law again. Not because of anything he did, but because of the actions of others seeking fame. He cites the Frank Ocean skirmish and the infamous New York City club brawl with Drake as two examples that he insists weren't his fault.
"There hasn't been any incident that I started since I got on probation, even with the Frank Ocean fight, the Drake situation, all those were defense modes," he states. "People think I just walk around as the aggressor, this mad black guy, this angry, young, troubled kid, but I'm not."
"I'm more and more laid-back. It's just that people know if they push a button, it'll make more news than their music," he continues. "Attaching themselves to me, good or bad, will benefit them."
In the end, Brown is tired of the negativity that's been following him and hopes to one day turn it around.
"I would really like to mean something to the world, instead of me just being this fungus," Brown told The Guardian. "Yeah, like the decay of society. I don't want to be the decay of society, I'd like to be the uplifting part."
