Charlie Brown Gets a Hip-Hop Makeover by Artist Mark Drew
A new hip-hop art exhibition combines the cartoon 'Peanuts' and its main character Charlie Brown with classic lines from hip-hop's golden era.
Titled 'Deez Nuts,' the project is the brainchild of Australian-born, Tokyo-based artist Mark Drew.
While scrolling through a few of the photos below, familiar lyrics from the Notorious B.I.G., Snoop Lion, Public Enemy and Dr. Dre are recognized. Drew cleverly pins the lyrics to dialogue bubbles of sketches that perfectly match the lyrics, bringing Charlie Brown and his Peanuts gang into a whole new genre.
'Deez Nuts' was showcased in the China Heights gallery, which Drew co-founded in Sunny Hills, Australia.
Peep the photos below and try to guess the lyrics without googling them.
