Jazmine Sullivan started off her career like many other artists and was the person writing songs for others before she became the star singing them. Penning 'Say I' for Christina Milian's 'So Amazin'' album, she also wrote tracks for Jennifer Hudson, Tamia and Monica.

Her debut album, 'Fearless,' released in September 2008, which spawned two successful singles: 'Need U Bad' and 'Bust Your Windows.' The latter was Sullivan's fruitful single because it landed in the Top 40 in the Billboard Hot 100 chart, received a Grammy nod for Best R&B song and has been covered on both 'American Idol' and 'Glee.' 'Love Me Back,' her second album, released in 2010, included the producing help and expertise of Ne-Yo, Ryan Leslie and Missy Elliott. In December 2010, Billboard awarded Sullivan with the Rising Star award.

Although there was talk that Sullivan officially left the music industry, the songstress has recently been informing fans via Twitter that she's back in the studio and working on her third LP.
