'The X Factor' hit some of America's biggest cities in search for more talent in this season's second episode and the show started off a little rocky as a result.

Yosselin Marquez stunned everyone when she asked Simon Cowell, "What's your name?" but the real surprise was yet to come. The Denver, Colo.-based Latina singer pulled out her cellphone -- equipped with a karaoke app -- and began butchering Rihanna's 'Only Girl In the World.'

A string of terrible performances dampened the judge's hopes to find talent in the small city. Sean Harris' horrible rendition of 'Amazing Grace' made Paulina try to be as mean as Simon, but she failed.

Then 15-year-old Rylie Brown took to the stage, a bit nervous at first, but after forgetting some of the lyrics to her audition song, she wowed the judges with her version of 'Clarity' by Zedd, receiving approval from all four judges.

Jeffrey Brinkman, 36, whose daughter was born 6 weeks early, giving him the go ahead to audition for the show, made an immediate fan in Kelly Rowland, who loved the fact that he had a fantastic voice and ran a doggy daycare. He sang 'You Are So Beautiful,' receiving full support from the judges.

Quirky contestant Simone Torres gave a surprisingly good performance after initially being labeled a "funny thing" by Simon. There was nothing funny about her smooth, strong voice. The judges all agreed that her performance was by far the best of the night.
