One week before the Movement Festival was slated to kick off its string of Austrailasian shows in Auckland on April 24, Live Nation and Niche Productions decided to cancel the multi-city music event.

Eleven years after he first graced the cover of Mass Appeal magazine (No. 18 with Large Professor), Nas has invested a "six-figure" sum into the hip-hop publication.

On the cover of Nas' stellar 2001 album 'Stillmatic,' he features the most loved and hated animals in New York -- the pigeon. Some New Yorkers see them as the mascot of the Big Apple, while others view them as "rats with wings." On the cover, Nas wears a tracksuit and is draped in jewelry as he poses in front of a New York City skyline...

'Daughters' was a real look at Nas criticizing his own shortcomings in raising his daughter Destiny. "I'm too loose, I'm too cool with her / Shoulda drove on time to school with her / I thought I dropped enough jewels on her," he raps...

Hip-hop heavyweights Drake, Nas and Rick Ross came in at No. 5, No. 4 and No. 3, respectively, on MTV's polarizing Hottest MCs List for 2013.

The Kennedy Center has been a staple performing arts complex in the nation's capitol since 1971. Next year, the cultural institution will introduce the new One Mic: Hip-Hop Culture Worldwide festival and one of rap's greats will kickstart the event: Nas.

Rap doesn't have many prophets but Queensbridge emcee Nas fits the mold. In 1991, 18-year-old Nasir Jones made his first notable appearance on Main Source's 'Live at the Barbeque,' and since then, he's been weaving tales of hood happenings over banging beats...

Being in the rap game since 1991, Nas has managed to nab 13 Grammy nominations, which is a great accomplishment. His first was in 1997, when he was up for Best Rap Solo Performance for his Lauryn Hill-assisted hit 'If I Ruled the World.' Unfortunately, he has yet to take one home...

Nas has always been a favorite of the ladies with his boy-next-door good looks and compelling raps. The rapper married singer Kelis in 2005 (must have been her milkshake), and the two divorced after a very public meltdown in 2009.
