Dr. Dre saw something special in Snoop Doggy Dogg earlier than everyone else. The producer trusted the Long Beach native enough to place him on 13 of the 16 songs on his groundbreaking album, 'The Chronic,' in 1992, so by the time his own debut, 'Doggystyle' dropped the following year, Snoop was a certified rap star.

The album nearly went platinum in its first week of release, spawning countless classics like 'What's My Name?' and 'Gin and Juice.' The next year, he kept the momentum going with the short film 'Murder Was the Case,' pairing the visual with a soundtrack of course.
