Prince will have an-all star lineup paying tribute to his musical legacy at the Carnegie Hall in New York City on March 7.

The Roots will be the house band for the concert and play the Purple One's many hits. Many of Prince's predecessors will grace the stage including D'Angelo, Bilal, Talib Kweli, and many others.

The proceeds for the event will go to music education programs for underprivileged students in New York City.

This is the ninth run of the concert series run by City Winery founder Michael Dorf. Past events have honored the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and Elton John. “Prince is one of the most prolific songwriters in my collection, and he makes my Top 10 when I think about the artists who have truly shaped modern music,” Dorf said in a statement announcing the concert.

In the meantime, while the newbies are singing Prince's old tunes, he's releasing new audible treats that are blowing up on the internet. 'Breakfast Can Wait' is a new song available on the singer's site 3rdEyeGirl.com. On the slow-tempo groove, he's not trying to rush to the kitchen at the break of dawn, instead he's craving something else to start his day. "I know you're late, but I need another taste, breakfast can wait," Prince sings.

And although a performance is not confirmed, Prince has also been mentioned as part of the Grammy celebration on Feb. 10. Will he be hitting the stage to get down to new tunes? Only time will tell, but Prince is surely edging his way back into the limelight.
