Before N' Sync, New Kids on the Block and even Boyz II Men, there was New Edition. In the early 1980s, teenage girls in denim vests covered in N.E. buttons rushed the stage at every show put on by the Boston youngsters. The five -- Bobby Brown, Ralph Tresvant, Ronnie Devoe, Michael Bivins and Ricky Bell -- were to be the "new edition" of the Jackson  5, hence the name.

Their 1983 debut LP, 'Candy Girl,' featured poppy R&B catered to countless young ladies who had their first encounter of puppy love through their age-appropriate tracks like 'Candy Girl' and 'Mr. Telephone Man.'

Although Bobby Brown left the group after the debut in hopes of pursuing his own career, they then brought Johnny Gill into the fold to drop another wave of impressive hits to include 'Can You Stand the Rain' and 'If It Isn't Love.' After some time -- and some ego-checking -- Brown reconnected with the group and now all six can be spotted performing together from time to time.
