Mike Will Made It Enlists Miley Cyrus, Wiz Khalifa and Juicy J for ’23’
Hitmaker Mike WiLL Made It has enlisted Miley Cyrus to rap for him on his new single, '23.' The twerking princess is also joined by rappers Wiz Khalifa and Juicy J.
The song pays homage of sorts to Michael Jordan, hence the number 23, and his classic Air Jordan sneakers (aka "J's"). But it's also about ballin' out of control in the clubs as well.
Cyrus sets the tone with her chorus: "I'm in the club high off purp with some shades on / Tatted up, miniskirt and my J's on."
She also makes references to rappers in her rhymes. Cyrus spits in one line, "I'm MC Hammer Fly (fresh) / You can't touch (nope) / J's so fly, I should be working at Flight Club." (For the uninitiated: Flight Club is the ultimate sneaker store that resells Air Jordan kicks.)
She later raps, "I'm naughty by nature, I'm hip-hop hooray," which is a reference to Naughty by Nature's classic 1993 song 'Hip-Hop Hooray.'
Wiz also spits braggadocio lyrics about his Jordan collection and his ability to pop plenty of bottles in the club. "Pro athlete / I'm not a wannabe / The waitress asked how many bottles, I say, '23,'" he raps.
Juicy J gets trippy over Mike's slinky, bass-heavy beat, rapping, "I stay showing out / My kick game is a beast / I got 30 pair of J's that never been released."
A video for the single was filmed last week in New York.
The club banger '23' is the first single from Mike WiLL Made It's upcoming project, 'Est. in 1989, Pt. 3.'
