Even though Megan Miller from Ethel, La., was the first audition of the day, she didn't let that mess with her nerves during 'American Idol' last night. Then again, the 22-year-old Miss Baton Rouge winner actually had more to worry about.

Holding herself up with crutches, she revealed that she was going for surgery right after her 'Idol' audition and was hoping to have a gold ticket in her hand by that time. Injuries aside, her version of Etta James' 'Something's Got a Hold on Me' was so strong and controlled that the judges just had to move her to the next round.

"What I want to commend you on here and not make an excuse," Nicki Minaj said. "Rather you turn that into something... You still came here, and [you said] yeah my leg is broken but I'm still going to come here. And I'm so glad because sometimes things happen like that to discourage you..."

"But you just have to roll with the punches," Miller said finishing Minaj's thought.
